Gary Lee Kipena, our beloved cousin, 61, of Lead, SD passed away Sunday December 8, 2024, at Monument Hospital, Rapid City, SD, with family by his side. He was born January 8, 1963, to Doris Kipena, she passed away on April 16, 2002.

He was also proceeded in death by his Grandparents; Otto and Helen Kipena; his aunts, Noreen Steffen, Marliss Plaggemeyer, and Delores Ariounes; his uncles; Lavera Kipena, Robert Kipena, Stanley Steffen, and Johnny Ariounes, and a cousin, Jacob Steffen.

He is survived by his cousins; Irene Day Witt, Helen Steffen, Dona Steffen, Kim Steffen, Hailey Steffen Dittys, Ron Plaggemeyer, Anita Desilva, and an uncle; Ralph Kipena.

He will be forever loved and missed.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00AM, Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel in Lead, SD.  Inurnment with full military honors will follow in Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.
