Obituary

Gary Lee Geffre, 64 of Lead, passed away on February 27, 2015 at Rapid City Regional Hospital, surrounded by his family after a brief courageous battle with cancer.

Gary was born on December 31, 1950 in Leola, SD to Puis and Alma (Stoecker) Geffre. He graduated from Lead High School in 1969 and went to SDSU to study Journalism and was active in the ROTC program. He worked at Homestake Mining Company for a brief time, and then worked in the construction industry for many years in Tennessee, Montana and South Dakota. Before his retirement he groomed the snowmobile trails in the Black Hills, which he enjoyed very much. He loved to fish and hunt and spent many hours teaching his great nieces and nephews to enjoy it with him.

He is survived by his sisters, Julie Enderby of Lead, Sherleen Wailti of Montana, Patty Geffre of Arizona; nieces and nephews, Shanon (Dan) Morrison of Lead, Jim (Tasha) Enderby of Dayton, Ohio, Shylo, Jarrett, and Actavia of Montana; great nieces and nephews, Kyle, Makayla and Tyler Morrison of Lead, Cody, Ethan and Hayden of Montana, and Tha, Bria and Sari Enderby of Ohio; he was even a great-great-uncle to Aubree Morrison and Cyler Reynolds of Lead. He is preceded in death by his parents and numerous aunts and uncles.

At Gary's request there will be no services and inurnment will take place at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family at 911 Washington, Lead, SD 57754.
