Frank O. Perry, 90 of White River and Spearfish died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at the Ft. Meade VA Medical Center.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 from 2-4 P.M. at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish. Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., CST, Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Community Events Center in White River. Burial will follow at the White River Cemetery. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service.

Frank was born April 7, 1919 to Frank R. and Bertha E. (Eaton) Perry in White River, SD. He was raised in White River and graduated from high school in 1937. Frank worked for a brief time after high school before enlisting in the United States Army. While in the army Frank was stationed in various areas throughout the world, including South America, Japan and France. Frank retired from the U.S. Army in September of 1962 as a Major. He returned to White River and worked as justice of the peace and as a substitute teacher, before becoming post master of White River in 1964. Frank retired in 1978 from the post office. Several years after his retirement Frank moved to Spearfish to be near family. Due to ill health Frank had been a resident of Ft. Meade VA Medical Center for the last seven years.
Frank enjoyed fishing with family and friends and especially enjoyed teaching children how to fish. Frank also enjoyed visiting with family and friends and making new friends where ever he went, he was proud of his service to his country and was very patriotic.
Survivors include one brother, Robert "Bob" Perry of Spearfish, one sister, Lynette Fredricksen of Pierre, many nieces and nephews and close friend, Carol Robinson of Rapid City.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters; Phyllis Perry, Lois Carbajal and Norma Samuelson.
