Francis E. Krejci, 87, passed away on December 25, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. Born on November 7, 1938, in Deadwood, South Dakota, Francis lived a full and vibrant life marked by dedication to his work, deep personal passions, and enduring relationships.
He graduated from Lead High School in Lead, South Dakota in 1956. His academic journey continued at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City, where he earned his degree in 1961. Driven by a passion for engineering and innovation, he pursued further education at the University of Arizona, completing his studies there 1967.
That same year marked a pivotal moment as Frank moved to Texas to begin his career as an electrical engineer with Ling Temco Vought (LTV). Over the years, he contributed his expertise to several prominent organizations including Raytheon and the United States Department of Defense. His work reflected not only technical skill but also a steadfast commitment to national service and technological advancement. Even after retiring from engineering, Frank continued to apply his talents as a compliance officer and tax preparer with Jackson Hewitt until 2025—a testament to his enduring work ethic and love for staying active.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Frank was deeply involved in community and fraternal organizations. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and the Aerospace Club. His leadership was recognized through his role as past Exalted Ruler of the Dallas Elks Lodge #71, an honor that spoke to his dedication and camaraderie within these circles.
Frank had a zest for life that extended far beyond the workplace. A licensed airplane pilot for many years, he found joy in the skies just as much as on land. He loved biking and tennis and never missed an opportunity to dance—of any kind. Road trips were among his greatest pleasures; he traveled extensively across the country behind the wheel of his beloved Lincoln Towncar. These journeys were more than just travel—they were expressions of freedom and curiosity that defined much of who he was.
He was also known for his sharp mind and competitive spirit when it came to games. Whether dancing or playing cards, Frank brought energy and enthusiasm that made him an exceptional friend to all who knew him.
Frank cherished time with family above all else. He is survived by his devoted wife Carrie A. Krejci, Richardson, TX, daughter Tina Krejci (Kent Johnson) Greybull WY. brother Raymond Krejci. Belle Fourche, SD, niece Kara Reed (Jason)Lincoln, NE and nephew Andrew Krejci (Sarah) in Yutan, NE. He was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Katherine Schopen Krejci; son John Francis Krejci; father Francis Krejci; Mother Rosina Greselin Krejci; brother Fred Krejci and sister-in-law Shirley Krejci.
His Thursday night phone calls became a cherished tradition among those close to him—a simple yet profound gesture that reflected how deeply he valued connection with others. These calls—and the road trips that so often followed—will be sorely missed.
A man of many interests who truly enjoyed working and living life on his own terms, Frank leaves behind a legacy of warmth, adventure, loyalty, and love.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
