Florence Louise Arnold, 86 formerly of Spearfish, SD passed away quietly on March 18, 2015 in Scottsbluff, NE.
Florence was born on May 17, 1928 to Swan and Lempi Kosola. She was one of thirteen kids in the family. She was raised on a farm east of Newell, SD and graduated from Newell High School. She started her long career working for Production Credit in Newell, then six years for Pennington County Assessor's office in Rapid City, SD, finally working 38 plus years for the City of Rapid City in numerous rolls consisting of Auditors Office, City Finance, and the Finance officer to the Rapid City Public Library.
After retirement she lived on a farm near Nisland, SD, then Spearfish SD, and finally in the Scottsbluff-Gering area of NE. She loved working with the public and being around people. She was first married to Walter J. Stark and later to Monroe F. Arnold.
Survivors include her son, Dale Stark and family, of Gering, NE;, five step- children; two grandchildren, McKayla and John; several step-grandchildren; four sisters, Edna McDade, Ester Wilson, Ruth Nash, and Irene Winger. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, four sisters and her husband Monroe.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday March 25, 2015 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish. She will be buried at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.
