Fern Moe, 90 of St. Onge passed away on April 9, 2019 at Belle Estate Senior Living.

Fern Lila (Gordon) Moe was born on January 9, 1929 to Harley and Josephine (Nass) Gordon at Regent, ND. She attended schools in Regent and graduated from High School in 1946. She then went to work for her brother in the Regent Café. She was confirmed and baptized in the English Lutheran Church in Regent.

She was united in marriage to Warren "Bud" L. Moe on August 2, 1947. Bud worked for various farmers in the North Dakota area. In 1949, they relocated to the Aladdin and Beulah area in Wyoming. In 1952, they moved to Deadwood where Bud worked for Homestake Mining Company. They had a chance to purchase Fern's cousin's farm in St. Onge. They moved there in April of 1954 and have resided there ever since.

Fern was an active member of the St. Onge Extension, Garden and Community clubs. She was awarded 4-H leader for over 25 years. She was a dedicated mother to her children by attending sporting and musical events of all kinds. She has been an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Spearfish since 1963.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Chuck) Sloan; four grandsons, Chad and Kelly Moe, CJ and Clay Sloan; one granddaughter, Robin Brown, nine great-grandchildren, Ben, Jake, Andrew and Will Moe, Tyrel, Chase and Terryn Brown, Ivy and Aislynn Sloan; daughter–in-law, Patty Moe; four sisters-in-law, Leona, Elaine, Arlene and Verletta along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; sons, Gordon, Tommy and Terry; daughter, Judy; siblings, Gerald Gordon, Carmen Dittus, Bill Gordon, Wallace Gordon, Doyle Gordon, Dick Gordon, Lucille Jalbert, George Gordon, Bob Gordon, Lyle Gordon and Phylis Thompson; her parents and grandparents.

Visitation will be 5PM-7PM, Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 AM Friday, April 12, 2019 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Spearfish. Interment will be at Black Hills National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to St. Paul Lutheran Church and Hospice and Home Care of the Northern Hills.
