Fern Nina (Coates) Cook, 92, of Spearfish, SD, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Belle Fourche Health Care Center.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 22, 2008 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish with Reverend Gordon Higgins officiating, inurnment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Spearfish.

Fern Nina Coates was born on November 9th 1915 in Hawarden, Iowa to George & Mabel (Lawton) Coates. Fern was the oldest of two children. The family moved to Spearfish in the late 1930's. Fern married Orman Cook on August 16th 1942 at her family home in Spearfish.

Fern was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Orman, her brother, Glenn, and her grandson Tyson Scott. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Jim Fisher, Spearfish, SD; four grandchildren, James (Mary) Fisher, Knoxville, TN; Gary (Linda) Fisher, Chehalis, WA; Beverly (Steve) Taylor, Spearfish, SD; and Wesley Scott, Toledo, OH; 13 great grandchildren, Jason Fisher; Sarah Cochran; Christine Jenkins; Jeanette Fisher; Lauren, Charlie, and Anthony Fisher; Jessica, Tricia, & Tim Reardon; Kayla & Samantha Taylor, Tatum Scott; one great great grandson Zayden Fisher.
