Evelyn L. Ryther, 88, of Deadwood, went to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
Evelyn was born on December 12, 1935, a daughter of Richard and Minnie Haka. She graduated from Lead High School in 1953. Following high school, she took a job at the Ben Franklin store and eventually went to work for Northwestern Bell Telephone company as an operator.
She was confirmed and a member of First Lutheran Church in Lead. Evelyn married Donald E. Ryther on March 9, 1958. And to this marriage they had five children.
Those left to mourn her passing are her four children; three sons, John Ryther, Darrell Ryther and Wayne (Cheryl) Ryther; one daughter, Lori (Ben) Peffer and one sister, Elma (Donnie) Quaschnick; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Minnie Haka, her husband, Donald E. Ryther, a son, Jerry Ryther and great-granddaughter, Evelyn Molnar.
