Evelyn Jane (Clingan) Frieze passed away, Oct. 18, 2025, peacefully at Crook County Long   Term Care surrounded by family and friends.  Evelyn was born May 7, 1943, in Spearfish, South Dakota to Myra and Harry Clingan.  For a brief period, she lived in Sundance and moved with her family to Upton, Wyoming.  She attended Upton Elementary and graduated in May 1961 from Upton High School.  After graduating, she attended Catholic College in Nebraska and moved to Larmie, Wyoming.  She has two children, Melody and Wendall.

After College, Evelyn moved with her family to San Jose, California and was employed by Santa Clara County Transit District as a City Bus Driver.  In 1975, Evelyn married Vernon Frieze where they resided until 1989. After retirement, they moved to Rifle, CO. to be near their daughter, Melody and two grandkids, Matthew and Shannon.

She is survived by her relatives, Brothers; Raymond (Georgia Mae) Clingan, Houston, Texas, Eddie (Yong) Clingan, Helena, Montana, and Joe Clingan, Gillette, Wyoming.  Sisters; Theresa (Rick) Benavidez, Sundance, Wyoming, Cathy (Cliff) Dowdy, Gillette, Wyoming and Rebecca (Randy) Ernster, Rapid City, South Dakota. Grandkids, Matthew and Shannon Micheals.  Numerous Cousins, Nephews and Nieces.

Proceeded in Death; Husband, Vernon Frieze, two children Wendall and Melody, Parents, Grandparents, and numerous cousins.

Evelyn was described by many, caring, funny, sweet and kind soul and will be missed.  Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later date.  Family extends their appreciation and gratitude to many employees at the Crook County Nursing Home for care and kindness.

Private family graveside services will be held in the Spring of 2026.
