'The nice little old greenhouse lady' is how she is known to most customers of the Spearfish Greenhouse for the last 40 years. She could be seen giving advice and selling flowers and tomato plants up through last summer. She was always giving away an extra free plant.

Eva was always interested in her children, grandchildren, and extended family.
She often spoke of how proud she was to be a Langer and had great enthusiasm for her family's accomplishments. She was also interested in everyone she met and remembered details of everyone even at her advanced age. Everyone knew there was always a place at her table and an odd job if they needed one.

Born to Albert Langer and Julia Buzalsky-Langer on August 20, 1914, Eva was the oldest of 5 siblings; Antone, Joseph, James and sister, Dorothy. They grew up on a farm in Amidon, North Dakota.

She married Richard Heeren on June 6, 1940. Together they raised 5 daughters; Dorothea, Virginia, Mary, Dolores and Francis.

Eva is survived by her five daughters: Dorothea (Jim) Berman of Spearfish, Virginia Corcoran of Spearfish, Mary Heeren of Viborg, SD, Delores (Nelson) Bloomquist of Clark, SD, and Frances Heeren of Clark. She is also survived by her brothers, Jim Langer and Joe Langer, and one sister Dorothy Doyle, all of Spearfish, six grandchildren: Phillip Bloomquist, Beth Bloomquist, Rick Corcoran, Ron Corcoran, Richele "Shelly" Taylor, and Amanda Berman, and four great grandchildren: Brian, David and Mike Taylor and Jeremy Corcoran.

She was preceded in death by her brother Tony Langer and her husband Dick.
