Emma Adelaide Daiss, 96, Spearfish, died Friday, December 02, 2011 at the Belle Fourche Healthcare Center.
Emma Adelaide was born April 24, 1915 at the family homestead west of Belle Fourche to Frank and Theresa (Leitner) Budmayr. She was one of nine children, seven girls and two boys. She married the late Clifford Daiss and had seven children, four boys and three girls. The family was raised in Lead.
She was filled with love and loved everyone she knew. She possessed a great faith that sustained her through many challenges. She lead through example and touched many lives in a wonderful way. She was precious and gracious. She was devoted to her family and was a positive influence on everyone she encountered. The world is a more loving place because of her abundance. She will be greatly missed.
Grateful for having shared her life are her children: Douglas (Marion) Daiss, Callao, VA, Gary (Linda) Daiss, Hill City, Terry Daiss, Rapid City, Jeannine (Grant) Leader, Anchorage, AK, Deanna Daiss, Spearfish, SD, Becky Daiss (Dan), Arlington, VA and Kurt Daiss, Atlanta, GA.; Emma is also survived by her sister, Pearl Aylesworth, St. Louis, MO, nine grandchildren; Robin, Josh, Jessica, Amy, Alicia, Beth, Teresa, Nick, Christa and eight great-grandchildren; Mary Stuart, Allison, Leo, Grace, Aleigha, Christian, Josie and Axel. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, five sisters, and two daughter-in-laws.
Visitation for Emma will be at 6:00 P.M. Monday, December 5, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Spearfish, followed by a Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be at Black Hills National Cemetery.
