Eloise "Ellie" O'Neill, 89 of Spearfish, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at the David M. Dorsett Healthcare Center.

Ellie was born June 16, 1927 in Escalante, Utah to Andrew and Lenora Porter. She is survived by her children; Michael (Kathy Hazen) O'Neill, Danny (Claire) O'Neill, David (Susan)O'Neill and Julie (George) Hushin, seven granddaughters, three grandsons and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wally.

Ellie was a well-known figure in Spearfish, noted for her sense of style and decorating talent, she remodeled 28 homes in the Spearfish community. She was an avid antiquer and was well known for her expertise. Ellie was known as a "sunbeam", "pistol" and a thrower of spontaneous parties. Her many friends will always remember Ellie for her charismatic personality.

Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10am, Monday, March 27, 2017 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Spearfish, burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

A memorial has been established to benefit the Spearfish Food Pantry.
