Obituary
Elmer LeRoy Herber, 87 of Spearfish died Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Spearfish Regional Hospital.
Memorial services will be at 11:00AM on December 20, 2008 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish, with Pastor Gail Arnold officiating, burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Spearfish.
Memorials will be given to Hospice of the Northern Hills.
Elmer was born April 13, 1921 to Ernest and Mollie (Dumler) Herber in Spearfish, SD. During his high school years in Spearfish he was active in football and gradated from Spearfish High School. He worked most of his life on the family dairy farm northwest of Spearfish. He also worked as a car salesman and custodian at the school.
Elmer enjoyed playing softball and was a great pitcher. He also liked dancing, fishing, bowling and hunting.
Elmer is survived by his sister-in-law, Arlene Herber of Rapid City, SD, nieces and nephews; Dave (Gerae) Herber of San Diego, CA, Ron Herber, Janet Thomas, and Jerry (Nicole) Herber all of Rapid City, great nieces and nephews; Jonathan, Jennifer, Weston, Amber, Miranda, and Derek. Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Maurice Herber and his son Jim Herber.
