Ella M. Kirschman, 90, Spearfish, SD died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the David M. Dorsett Healthcare Center.

Ella was born June 16, 1923 to Charles and Mary (Miller) Buckmiller in Harvey, ND. There she lived on a farm with four brothers and four sisters. In 1941, Ella married Fred Kirschman, they lived in the McClusky for a number of years farming. When Ella and Fred lived on the farm, she maintained a large garden and cooked for the threshers for years. She baked many kuchans for the thresher's lunch, along with cabbage rolls.

In 1950, they moved to Bismarck, where she worked at both hospitals as a nurse's aid for 25 years. She also worked as a sales clerk at J.C. Penney's for 8 years, then Ella went to work for the state, working at the capitol building for 10 years, then working at the governor's mansion, and retiring from the heritage center. In retirement, she began working part-time for Wal-Mart as a greeter for four years.

Ella loved her church and the friends she made there. She also loved to travel and listen to music.

Ella is survived by one son, Ronald Kirschman of Colorado; one daughter Karen Albaugh of Texas, six grandchildren; Barry, Paula, Kristi, Jesse, Shannon, and Heather and seven great-grandchildren; Joshua, Johnathan, Gracie, Alexis, Kaylee, Russell, and Sophie; three sisters; Elverna Shlickenmeyer, Rosella Grantham, both of Bismarck, Carrie Martin, Billings, MT, one brother; Francis Buckmiller, Vancouver, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Marcella Jesser; brothers, Lawrence, Henry and Carl; sister, Viola Miller and her husband Fred.

There will be a memorial service at 10:30 A.M. on June 13, 2014 at Fairview Cemetery in Bismarck, ND.
