Elizabeth Jordan Whalen, of Aladdin, Wyoming passed away at the age of 87 on November 22, 2010 at Crook County Long Term Care in Sundance, Wyoming.
Memorial services will be held at 2:30 P.M., Saturday, November 27, 2010 at Sundance United Methodist Church.
Memorials may be directed to benefit Crook County Long Term Care in Sundance.
Elizabeth was born December 9, 1923 to her parents, Nina and Frank Hardy of Alva, Wyoming. Elizabeth's childhood years were spent on the family ranch near Alva. She graduated from Sundance High School in 1941. On December 9, 1941 Elizabeth Hardy married John Whalen, to this union three children were born; Grace, Bill and George. John and Elizabeth raised their family on the Whalen Ranch at Aladdin. Elizabeth cherished playing the piano and accordion with the Aladdin Offbeats Band, camping in the Black Hills and Bighorn Mountains and writing poetry. She will be remembered for her sense of humor.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband, John of Aladdin, daughter, Grace (Hank) of Dubois, sons, Bill (Sandy) and George (Jeanne) of Aladdin, her grandchildren, Katie, Mathew, Sabrina and Samantha, one niece, Serola Davis and many friends who shared her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Margaret, and her beloved Uncle George.
Arrangements are under the care of Fidler-Roberts & Isburg Funeral Chapel of Sundance.
