Elizabeth
Stone
September 16, 1950 – May 2, 2026
Elizabeth Lynn Stone, 76, passed away on May 2, 2026. She passed peacefully at home per her wishes. May she rest in peace without pain and suffering.
Liz was well-traveled and lived from South Dakota to Wyoming, Alaska to Arizona, Tennessee to California and more, not to mention her travel abroad. She was an animal lover and owned many through her life, from exotic birds to cats, to dogs and horses, to raccoons and ferrets, to snakes and more she cared for them all. She loved her friends and family especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. She worked at Atascadero State Hospital for over 20 years where she met some of her best and lifelong friends. She was married several times and loved her step-kids and her own children alike. She loved doing arts and crafts from making earrings to stained glass and enjoyed being creative in many ways. She was a big fan of Harleys and Jeeps. When able she enjoyed long walks and hikes with her friends and animals where she found and brought home many of her rock treasures. She was adventurous and had no fear of the unknown. Strong willed with a fierce and fiery attitude she balanced compassion and love for those she cared for. Overall she was a independent woman with a beautiful soul that will be loved and missed forever. Survived by some and preceded by others, memories of her will burn strong in all of our hearts. She will no longer be in pain and will Rest in Peace, as she deserves.
A celebration of life will be held at the Casino in Central City, her hometown, at 1:00 pm on May, 30th. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Twin City Animal Shelter in her name and love of animals.
