December 27, 1917 a baby girl was born to William and Claudie Goff, they named her Elizabeth Ellen. She was one of 10 children born to this family and is survived by one sister Marjorie Sperle. Elizabeth Ellen was raised in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Wyoming. She married Harvey Schiller on October 22, 1937 and to this union 7 children were born, Audrey, Jake (went to Heaven in 2001), Jim, Tom (Went to Heaven in 1970), Carolyn, Linda and Jeff. There are 14 grandchildren, Deborah, Sheri, Laura, Joe, Darin, Beth, Scott, Brent, Jeremiah, Brad (Went to Heaven in 2007) Eric, Tressy, and Neil. Elizabeth has 26 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Harvey and Elizabeth were married just short of 50 years when Harvey went on to Heaven in 1988 and waited for her. When Elizabeth and her brother Lowell went to Oklahoma to visit their grandmother and began hitchhiking back to Wyoming when they stopped at the Schiller's home, friends of their family and Elizabeth told Olive Schiller she didn't like hitchhiking, it scared her, Olive told Lowell to hitchhike on home and send back money for Elizabeth to go home on the bus. While in Oklahoma Elizabeth and Olive's son Harvey began dating and the rest is history.
Elizabeth was a homemaker and kept busy raising 7 children. She was a wonderful seamstress and sewed many of her children's and grandchildren's clothes. She kept all of us warm with the wonderful quilts she made and we all have one or twenty of her crocheted potholders. Elizabeth was a great cook, we grew up eating homemade bread, fried chicken, potato salad, cakes, pies and so many other great dishes. No one else could ever come close to the many memories we have that included her cooking.
Elizabeth enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great-grandchildren were all very special to her. She enjoyed family picnics, fishing, and visiting family. Harvey and Elizabeth took many trips to visit family after Harvey retired and the kids were all raised. Elizabeth found a new pleasure later in life in going to Deadwood with her family and trying her luck on the slot machines. She hit one last jackpot in Deadwood last Tuesday, March 23rd while there with several of her children and grandchildren.
Elizabeth went on to Heaven on March 29, 2010 to meet up the family that had gone before her, with her family by her side as was her wish.
