Elda Mae Shuck, 91 of Spearfish died Saturday, February 26, 2011, peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Rapid City Regional Hospital.
Elda Mae Shuck was born February 25, 1920 at Lillian, Nebraska to Joseph and Grace E. (Clarke) Patterson. She married Wilford Shuck on March 6, 1937 at Gering, Nebraska. They lived in Nebraska until moving to Vale, South Dakota in 1942. In 1945 they moved to Spearfish where they made their home. She enjoyed bowling, cooking, handicrafts and spending time with her family. She worked at Bell Luncheonette, Safeway and Black Hills State University. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and St. Paul Lutheran Church.
She is survived by two sons, Larry (Donna) Shuck, Rapid City, S.D., Gene (Barb) Shuck Mesa, Arizona and two daughters, Coral (Bill) Shannon, Dayton, Wyoming, Shelly (Sam) Hubbard, Fallon, Nevada, 18 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 16 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and son, Melvin, her parents, five brothers, four sisters and a great grandson.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 3 at 1:00 p.m. at Rosehill Cemetery in Spearfish. Fellowship time will be held immediately afterward at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
