Eileen Marie Humbracht, 80, of Camp Crook, SD, died Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at Southwest Health Care Center in Bowman, ND.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 19, 2008 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Camp Crook Methodist Church with Pastor Tom Martin officiating, burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Camp Crook.
Memorials will be divided between the Harding County Senior Citizens and Camp Crook Methodist Church.
Eileen was born on April 16, 1928 in Rushville, NE to Franklin and Opal (Addie) Tiensvold. She grew up and graduated from high school in Rushville. She taught school for two years before her marriage to Warren Haines on June 8, 1947. To this union a daughter was born. After Warren's death she moved with her parents to the family ranch in Carter County, Montana. This is where she met Wesley Humbracht and they were married on December 3, 1949 in Belle Fourche, SD. The couple made their home on his family ranch near Camp Crook. To this union six children were born. After Wesley's death in 1964 she continued to raise the children on the ranch for a few years before moving to Buffalo, SD to be closer to school. After a few years she took a job at Sky Ranch and moved to Camp Crook for a short time. She moved to Spearfish in 1974 and worked at the Dorsett Home as the head cook for 13 years. She then worked at the Hickory House as a cook until retiring and moving back to Buffalo.
While in Buffalo she was active in the Harding County Senior Citizens and served as president for 9 years. She was also active in the Camp Crook Methodist Church. She was a member of the Black Hills Art Association and several extension clubs. She was also involved in Camp Friendship. Eileen enjoyed art work and painted many paintings for her family to enjoy. She also liked sewing, quilting, and helping people and her family.
Eileen is survived by her seven children: Barbara Stordahl, Bowman, ND, Alberta (Marty) Couch of New Salem, IL, John (Linda) Humbracht, Charles (Peggy) Humbracht, all of Camp Crook, Dorothy (Mark) Schwinger, Rapid City, SD, David Humbracht, Beverly (Jim) Bellantino, all of Spearfish, 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, William (Mary) Tiensvold, Quartzsite, AZ, and one sister, Lola Humbracht, Spearfish. Eileen was preceded in death by her husband Warren Haines in 1947, her husband Wesley Humbracht in 1964, and four brothers: Kenneth, Clifford, Marlyn and Norris.
