Eileen Dittus, 77, Lead, SD died Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Spearfish Regional Hospital.
Eileen was born at Monango, ND to Karl and Johanna (Gebhardt) Griesbach. She was raised and attended school in the Monango area. While living in that area, she met and married Leonard Dittus. They moved to Lead, after Leonard got a job at the Homestake Gold Mine. While living in Lead, Eileen worked at various restaurants as a cook. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary, in 1972; she was president of the Woman's Auxiliary of the United Steel Workers Union Hall. She was also a member of the Eagles, Moose, she enjoyed bowling and bingo. She was proud of her family and enjoyed raising them. In her later years, her and her son Jimmy were inseparable, and she enjoyed spending time with him. She also loved her cat named "Baby."
She is survived by her children, Dorothy (Pete) Huck, Billings, MT, David (Julie) Dittus,
Deadwood, Lois Butler, Grantsville, UT and Jimmy Dittus, Deadwood; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Gerald Griesbach and Leonard Griesbach. She was
preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and a sister.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, April 26, 2013 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Lead, with visitation one hour prior to service.
