July 16, 1958 – February 21, 2025
Edward Shane Bunge of Harrison and Crawford, NE died February 21, 2025, in Spearfish SD. Edward was born July 16, 1958, to Dean and Hazel (Wampler) Bunge in Deadwood, SD. He graduated from Lead High School in 1977. He was handicapped by a rare teratoma brain tumor at the age of 14. His life was a litany of difficult health issues since his teen years. He made friends easily and had jokes and magic tricks for everyone. He enjoyed baking many, many batches of his Famous Oatmeal Cookies. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Harrison and served as Sunday School Superintendent and Elder. The Lord was his Savior, and he lived his faith always. He was the kindest soul and would help wherever needed and as he could. He was a life member of the NRA. One of the highlights of his life was a trip to Tennessee to watch his Packers play against the Titans for his 50th birthday. He had been a resident of the Ponderosa Villa in Crawford since 2015, until his recent move to Spearfish. He will be remembered as being the light of the day for many and will be missed by his family and friends. Surviving is his brother Doug (Betty) of Talbot TN; Sisters René (Dale) Larson of Lead; Diane (Scott) Macdonald of St. Onge. Nephews and families; Shane of Lafayette LA, Doug II of Georgetown KY, Chad of Burnsville MN and William of Georgetown Ky.
His parents preceded him in death.
Services will be March 8, 2025, at 1:00 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 296 Rose St. in Harrison NE.
A light meal will follow.
