Dwaine "Bud" Dodds, 89 of Spearfish died January 2, 2020 at Spearfish Canyon Healthcare

Bud was born on November 4, 1930 in Deadwood, SD to Chester and Edna (Dillavou) Dodds.

He graduated from Spearfish High School in 1948.  From there, ranched east of Spearfish until he retired in 2000 and then wintered in Prescott, AZ.  He married Dorothy "Dotty" Dodds on  December 28, 1965 in Beresford, SD. To this union two children were born, Chad and Pam.

Bud loved every aspect of the agriculture life, farming and raising beef cattle.  He never seemed to rest as his hobbies included working with horses, fencing, welding and building with metal and always willing to help a neighbor in need.

He is survived by his children, Chad (Rebecca) Dodds, Rapid City, and Pam (Todd) Heisler, Spearfish; six grandchildren, Eli, Carly, Grace, Bret, Kimberlyn and Jillian; siblings, Loren Dodds, Anchorage, AK and Wanda Rusche, The Woodlands, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Beverly Garrett.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the Western Plains Heritage Center in Spearfish. A memorial has been established to benefit the Hillsview Church and Daycare's new playground equipment.
