Doyle James O’Dell of Lead, SD passed away July 2, 2026, at his home. He was born in Mitchell, SD on December 2, 1946 to Joseph Jack and Delvia O’Dell of Terryville, SD. 

Doyle will be remembered for his storytelling, hunting, fishing, gold panning and his cherished Hot Rods.

Doyle was a Vietnam Vet who served his country from 1962 to 1966 and reupped for another tour of duty from 1967 to 1969.

He was proceeded in death by his father, Jack O’Dell; mother, Delvia O’Dell; brother, Jimmy O’Dell and sister, Kitty Coffield.

Doyle is survived by and deeply missed by his longtime partner, Deby Young; children, Bobby O’Dell, James O’Dell; twins Sean and Chantelle O’Dell; brother Joe O’Dell; sister Flo O’Dell and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM.

Celebration of Life will be held immediately following the committal service at 11:00 AM at the Sturgis VFW Vets Club.

Cremation arrangements were under the care of Isburg Crematory of Spearfish.
