Dorothy D. Leui passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017, after a long illness. She had been residing at the Belle Fourche Health Care Center for the last four years.

Dorothy was born on September 4, 1930, in Valentine, NE. She went to Teacher's College in NE and often worked at Central School as a substitute teacher. She married Donald Leui in 1952 and worked and served alongside him at their wheat farm in western Bennett County. She was warm and loving and extended compassion and hospitality to all she knew. Her home was often filled with many friends and much laughter! She absolutely loved any puppies or kitties, and even in her last days she was calling out to our beloved family dog, Mitzi!

She and Don have one daughter, Cheryl Kay, and their son-in-law Steven Reid.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her younger brother, Jerry Lynn. She is survived by her sister, Virginia, her sister-in-law Karen Phillips, and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside Memorial Services will be held at Black Hills National Veterans Cemetery in Sturgis, SD at 1 PM on August 23, 2017. In lieu of flowers, Dorothy would want you to choose someone in need and give them a 'helping hand-up!'
