Obituary

Dorothy Keil, 90 of Lead, passed away on October 23, 2015 at the David M Dorsett Healthcare Center.

Dorothy was born April 22, 1925 to Eino and Dagmar (Tuuro) Niemi at Lead, SD. She was raised and attended school in Lead, graduating from Lead High School. After high school, she attended National School of Business in Rapid City, earning a degree. After World War II, she married Melvin Hogarth. After Melvin's death in 1960, she went to work for the City of Lead, retiring as city treasurer in the early 90's. In 1968, she married Walter Keil, who passed away in 1986.

Dorothy was very active in the Senior Center, TOPS, Moose and the VFW Auxiliary.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 26 at Christ Church Episcopal in Lead. Inurnment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Christ Church Episcopal.

Survivors include her son, Dennis (Fran) Hogarth of Broomfield, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Charles Niemi and Kenneth Niemi, and husbands, Melvin Hogarth and Walter Keil.
