Dorothy Arleen Bockwoldt, 84, of Spearfish, SD, passed away on February 7, 2017 in Spearfish, SD.

Services will take place at a later date.

Dorothy was the youngest child born to Merrill and Lillian (Sortland) Anderson on November 23, 1932. She went to school at Litchville, ND. Dorothy married Kenneth Bockwoldt on November 21, 1953. She worked as an aide in nursing homes in Spearfish and Deadwood prior to becoming a stay at home mother. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lead for many years. She was an avid knitter and crocheter and enjoyed gifting others with homemade washcloths and doilies. Dorothy also enjoyed "circle a word" and "fill it in puzzles."

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Harold; and two sisters, Shirley and Marge.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of 63 years; her children: Mike Bockwoldt of Nashville, TN, Mark (Denise) Bockwoldt of Frankfort, IL, Beth (Mike Kliche) Bockwoldt of Nisland, SD, and Stanton (Gail) Bockwoldt of Mosinee, WI; her grandchildren: Zach Sallee, Mackenzie Bockwoldt, Mike Bockwoldt, and Matthew Bockwoldt; and one great-granddaughter, Nola Sallee.
