Doris Elaine Rosene, 87 of Spearfish, passed away on April 13, 2016 at the David M Dorsett Healthcare Center in Spearfish, SD.

Doris was born on September 1, 1928 in South Bend, Indiana to W. Herman and Margaret (Minnick) Chriest. She was one of four siblings. Doris attended elementary school and high school in South Bend. She also attended South Bend College of Commerce. She started her career in banking. Doris and Dominic DeLudos were married in 1950 and a son, Mario was born in 1951. She later married John Rosene and they were together for 35 years. She worked as a domestic executive cook in New York City and Jupiter Island, Florida and as an executive bookkeeper for the Days Inn in Hobe Sound, FL. Doris enjoyed playing the organ and embroidery. She retired in Florida and spent several years nursing her mother during her final years. Due to health conditions, Doris moved to Spearfish, SD in 2009 to be near her son, Mario. After breaking her hip in 2012, she moved into the Dorsett Home, where she received excellent care from their wonderful staff.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John and her brothers, William Chriest, Daniel Chriest and Eugene Chriest.

Survivors include her son, Mario (Donna) DeLudos, Sturgis, SD; granddaughter, Kerry Witcher, Centerville, OH; great-grandson, Nathan Witcher, Centerville, OH; sister-in-law, Jean Braithewaite, Myrtle Beach, SC and many nieces and nephews.

Services and inurnment will be held at Forest Hills Cemetery in Palm City, FL at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.

Cremation arrangements were under the care of Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapels and Crematory Service of Spearfish.
