Doris Henriksen passed away to eternal glory, March 18, 2016 at her home in Hulett with her family nearby.
Doris Helen (Fagerstrand) Henriksen was born February 2, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to Gus and Lillie Fagerstrand. She grew up in the 1930's in the city of Chicago and was able to experience a place that she held dear throughout her life. She married Richard Henriksen on December 2, 1950. To this union six children were born. They later divorced.
Mom was an amazing woman with an iron will and generous, kind and loving spirit. She was a pillar of strength for her family.
She worked at Hulett School for 25 years as a teacher's aide. Some of her fondest memories were of the interactions with her students and co-workers. Mom was an avid reader and dog lover, fan of Judge Judy, and was famous for her skill in the kitchen. Her chocolate chip cookies had no equal! She loved her dogs and took many into her home that had been abused and nursed them back to health.
But first and foremost she was a mom and a friend. She will be missed immensely.
She is survived by her six children and two grandchildren; Susan (Steve) Goochey, Burwell, NE, Karen (Pat) Tschacher, Dickinson, ND, Bob (Cindy) Henriksen, Gillette, WY, Robin Essert, Spearfish, SD, Lisa (Dean) Engelmann, Billings, MT and David Henriksen, Hulett WY and her two grandchildren, Jennifer Tschacher, Portland, OR and Jake Essert, Hulett, WY.
No services are planned at this time.
Arrangements are under the care of Fidler-Roberts & Isburg Funeral Chapel of Sundance, WY.
