Doreen Nancy Hilson, 62 of Deadwood, SD passed away on August 16, 2017 at her home.
Doreen was born on May 14, 1955 to Raymond and Helen (Yesenko) Polsfut in Max, ND on her parent's dairy farm. She graduated from Max Public School. She graduated from Minot State College with a teaching degree in music. During her long career she taught at South Prairie, Bell, Eric Ramstad and Longfellow Schools.
She married Jerome Hilson on December 28, 1984 and they made their home in Minot, ND. They owned and operated the Beer Barrel Bar in Minot from 1984-1999. During that time they also played in the country rock bands Barbwire and Dreamer. Doreen and Jerome moved to Rice Lake in 2003 and resided there until their retirement in 2015 and moved to Deadwood, SD.
Doreen and Jerome both loved and always had at least one German Shepard dog, enjoyed traveling, long walks, hiking in the Black Hills, playing and listening to music and watching movies. Doreen was a very kind and generous person who had many friends.
Doreen is survived by her husband, Jerome; mother, Helen; sister, Susan (Robbin) Plesuk; two wonderful nephews, Jerad and Tim Plesuk; step-daughter, Heather Doyle; aunt, Mary Palser and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her father.
