Donna Seykora, 83 of Spearfish, passed away on March 22, 2016 at the David M Dorsett Healthcare Center.

Visitation will be from 3:30-5:00 PM on Sunday, March 27, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Spearfish with the Vigil following at 5 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, March 28 at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to benefit St. Joseph C.A.R.E.S. Program.

Donna was born May 9, 1932 in Blooming Prairie, MN. She was the second of five children born to Clarence & Lenora Ebenhoh. She grew up on the family farm near Blooming Prairie. After graduating from high school, Donna went to work at Federated Insurance in Owatonna, MN.

On June 22, 1957, Donna married her best friend and soul mate Francis Robert Seykora. They lovingly raised three children together. In 1977, due to a career change for her husband, the family moved to Spearfish, SD. Donna worked for many years as a Medical Transcriptionist at Spearfish Hospital and later at Fort Meade VA in Sturgis, SD.

Donna and Francis enjoyed playing bridge and were members of several bridge clubs. Donna always said any day ending with the letter "Y" was a good day to play cards. She was an avid walker and was often seen walking around Spearfish, where she always had a kind word for everyone. She also enjoyed long bike rides, site-seeing, and ice cream. Donna was a devoted Catholic. She loved going to mass and stopping in to Saint Joseph Catholic Church to say a prayer.

Donna was a beautiful and talented woman. There was nothing she would not try to do. She loved to bake, knit, sew and quilt. Her caramel rolls and home-made buns were legendary. She made and gifted many gorgeous quilts to her lucky friends and family. Her zest for life touched the lives of many and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Donna is survived by her son, Peter (Sue) Seykora, of Sturgis; her daughters, Pam Seykora, of Rapid City and Lisa (Kevin) Pummel, of Spearfish; five grandchildren, Sarah Horvath, Kyle Horvath, Blayne Pummel, Ryan (Kelly) Gillespie and Amber Gillespie-Boatena; three great-grandchildren, Dylan and Tanner Gillespie and Laila Gillespie-Boatena; her siblings, June Dahl, Betty (Daryl) Johnson, Bev (Dennis) Nelson and Roy (Renee) Ebenhoh, all in Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis in 1988 and her parents.
