Obituary

Donna Maxene Smith Jones Dinkins, 91, Sundance, WY, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the Belle Fourche Healthcare Center.

Donna was born August 17, 1922 in Rapid City, SD to Edward C. and Jessie C. (Smith) Smith. She was the first born of eight children. Donna attended country school in Bear Lodge and finished her schooling in Sundance. She then attended Spearfish Normal School (Black Hills State University).

Donna married Cecil G. Jones on January 16, 1940. To this union five children were born. Cecil passed away August 30, 1962. Cecil and Donna started their adventure working on different ranches in South Dakota before moving to Wyoming around 1943, where they finished raising their children. Upon the death of her husband, Donna married Sid Dinkins on June 15, 1963. Sid and Donna were long time residents of Sundance. Sid passed away on October 13, 1974.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents; Ed & Jessie Smith, sister; Lorraine, brothers; Dennis & Richard, both of her spouses; Cecil & Sid and a great-great-granddaughter, Ehlin.

Donna is survived by three sons; Charles (Jean) Jones, Roger (Carol) Jones, both of Sundance, Edward (Nancy) Jones, Worland, two daughters; Maxine Noyes, Sundance, Glennita Long, Bullhead City, AZ. She is also survived by two brothers; Luther Smith, Midvale, UT and Vance Smith, Rawlins, WY, two sisters; Emma Reinhold, Buhl, ID and Elaine Menjares, Greeley, CO, 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Donna was a very warm caring grandmother that took great pride in helping care for her family, whenever needed. In her later years she loved having her doggies close to her.

Visitation will be from 4-6 P.M. on Thursday, April 3, at Fidler-Roberts & Isburg Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am, Friday, April 4, 2014 at Green Mountain Cemetery of Sundance. The family will hold a celebration of Donna's life in August.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to benefit Anchor Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
