Donna Darlene DeCook, 75 of Spearfish, passed away at Rapid City Regional Hospital on January 2, 2015 with her loving husband, Lyle by her side.
She was born August 24, 1939 to Herman and Elizabeth (Schetz) Stampe. She grew up in Stickney, South Dakota. She married Norbert Hanten on July 9, 1957. They were married for 13 years until his death in 1970. Together they had two daughters. She married Lyle DeCook on April 2, 1976. Together they raised eight children.
She was loved and will be greatly missed by her devoted husband, Lyle; sister, Lora Gerlach; sister-in-law, Leona Stampe; daughters, Kathy (Verlyn) DeHaai, Lori (Dan) Reid, Dawn (Mike) Miller and Jenni (Den) Singer; sons, Lyle (Brenda) DeCook, Dallas DeCook and Jim (Nicolle) DeCook; son-in-law, Leroy Erickson; brother-in-law, John Auld; 20 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Norbert; an infant son; daughter, Debbie Erickson; brother, Ivan; sisters, Mabel and Helen; sister-in-law, Iva, and three brothers-in-law.
Vigil and rosary services will be held at 7:00 P.M. on January 8, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Spearfish. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00am, January 9, 2015 at the church with Fr. Tyler Dennis officiating.
