Donley P. Schell, "Uncle Donnie" as he was known to so many family & friends, 71, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Crook County Memorial in Sundance, WY.

Don grew up on the family ranch near Elm Springs SD with parents, William V. and Blanche (Felton) Schell, five older brothers, Bob, Dean, Bill, Jay, Jerry, and six sisters, Wilma, Norma, Shirley, Carol, Kathy, Linda. Don earned his college degree from Black Hills State University and worked as a high school teacher for three years. Then from foreman of the Highway Deptment in Hulett WY to owning and operating a catering service, Don always believed that hard work is what makes a person who they are.

In 1995, Don purchased a logging business which he operated the rest of his life. Don could always be counted on for words of wisdom, a helping hand, some words of wit, a good joke, and a smile. Don married Reta Jones of Spearfish SD in 1963 and had two children, Paula "Sunny" and Ron Schell. Sunny and life partner Terri Mitchell, and Ron and Rena Schell are all of Pine Haven WY; grandchildren, Kyndell Shoun, Kole Schell, Joseph Ferguson, Devin Warren, Paige and Brandyn Allen; and six great- grandchildren. Don remarried Becky Rick in 1985 and helped raise son, Jared Brown of Houston TX. Don enjoyed his work no matter what it was but fishing, hunting, and playing guitar were his favorite pastimes.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 27, 2015 at the Old High School Gymnasium in Sundance. A reception will follow at the Sundance Courthouse Basement. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
