Obituary

Donald F. Denzin, age 86, of Sundance, WY passed away peacefully on Friday September 4, 2015 at Belle Estates in Belle Fourche, South Dakota with his family and friends by his side.

He was born on June 13, 1929 in Belle Fourche, South Dakota to Francis J. and Anna L. (Anderson) Denzin. He attended school in Belle Fourche and graduated from there in 1949. After high school, Don served in the Marine Corps. On September 19, 1953, he married Marilyn Sherrill Malvin. They spent almost 62 years together and raised two children, Terry Sherrill and Kenneth Jay. Don worked in the area building highways and bridges. Upon moving to Sundance, Wyoming, he and Marilyn opened Don's Cleaners and for eleven years served as the Crook County Justice of the Peace. Don later went to work for the Wyoming Highway Department retiring in 1992.

Don was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to pack llamas and go camping. After retirement, he and Marilyn traveled extensively seeing much of the United States. He enjoyed meeting new friends and loved telling stories of his childhood days and his military experiences.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn of Sundance and their two children, Terry (Ron) of Sundance and Ken (Jan) of Sundance; four grandchildren, Kari (John), Radona (Jason), Nathan (Stephanie), and Abby (Amin); eight great-grandchildren and many friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Chuck.

Memorial services will be held 10:00 am Monday, September 7, 2015 at Sundance United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sundance Rod and Gun Club or the Crook County Museum.
