Obituary

Dick Lee Ludemann, 76, of Upton, Wyoming passed away December 8, 2016, at Crook County Memorial Hospital.

Dick was born February 15, 1940, in Ainsworth, Nebraska, to Orley and Ruby (Williams) Ludemann. He was raised on the family ranch outside of Springview, Nebraska with his older sister, Mary, and a younger brother, Gary. His school years were busy with helping out at the ranch and excelling in sports and music. After graduating from high school, Dick and his good friend Buzz Cook, went on a motorcycle ride through Montana and Wyoming and during that ride he fell in love with the scenery of Wyoming. Dick looked up his friend Dan Forgey from Springview who was building Interstate 90 and applied for a job. With this job he would need to drive a scraper from Worland to Sundance to work on the road. While passing the Hagerman ranch, he spotted a blonde driving a tractor. He decided then that was the woman of his dreams. They later married on May 21, 1960 and were blessed with four children: Richard Lee, Jody Maureen, Melody Ann, and John Arthur.

Dick enjoyed being self-employed while building roads, stripping bentonite, farming, and logging. He enjoyed employing family members, friend and anyone who was willing to work hard. His favorite memory was working in the woods with all of his children.

During his lifetime he was active in golf, motorcycling, boating, waterskiing, and hunting.

He was a faithful and loving servant to his Savior, Jesus Christ. Bringing his family up in the church was very important to him. He taught his children to serve their God by using their musical talents and loving others.

Dick is survived by his wife, Judy, of 56 years; son, Richard (Karla) Ludemann of Upton, Wyoming; Jody (Allen) Heinrich of Gillette, Wyoming; daughter, Melody (Bill) Brewer of Cheyenne, Wyoming; son, John (Teresa) Ludemann of Gillette, Wyoming, and brother, Gary (Cristy) Ludemann of Springview Nebraska.

His greatest pride and joy was his four kids, his eleven grandchildren, and his six great grandkids.

He will be sorely missed by his family and many friends, but he is rejoicing in heaven!
