Dennis Thoresen "Spanky", 65 of Lead, died on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the Lead-Deadwood Regional Hospital.
Dennis was born to Howard and Darlene (Ulrich) Thoresen on July 3, 1945, in Deadwood, South Dakota.
His love of cars and speed, fishing, camping and a soft heart will be remembered by his family and friends.
Survivors include his sons, Don (Corina) Thoresen, Los Angeles, CA and David Thoresen, Rapid City, SD; daughter, Deanna Thoresen, Rapid City, SD; step-son Terry (Dixie) Varns of Spearfish, SD; brother David Thoresen, Los Angeles, CA and 7 grandchildren, Bridgette Thoresen, Ali Thoresen, Gabi Thoresen, Tanner Thoresen, William Thoresen, Steven Varns and Tucker Varns.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Danny Thoresen.
Visitation will be from 4 PM to 7 PM on Friday, April 22, 2011, at the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel in Lead. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 23, 2011, at the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel.
