Obituary
Dennis Dale Hurm, 60, of Gillette WY, passed away October 31st 2009, in Sundance, Wyo. Memorial services will be on Friday November 4th at 5pm, at the American Legion Hall, Post 42 in Gillette.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to benefit North East Wyoming Raptor Center, 325 Cook Road, Gillette WY 82716.
He was born September 17th in 1949 at Mitchell, SD to Donald and Sylvia (Uphoff) Hurm. He grew up in the Black Hills and graduated from Spearfish High School in 1967. After graduating he worked in the oilfields in Wyoming and North Dakota for many years. After the boom he pursued a career as a electrical motor mechanic, and was employed by Tree electric. He was then employed by EMS (Equipment Maintenance Services) and worked there from 1997 until present. On October 25th, 1986 he married Cindy Dye. Dennis was an avid Hunter and Fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors.
Survivors include wife, Cindy; children, Travis (Valerie) Hurm; Tracy (Rodney) Benson; grandchildren; Braik and Charlie Jean Hurm and Kelsey, Brody and Avery Benson; father, Donald Hurm of Saint Onge, SD; brother, Doug (Vicki) Hurm of Saint Onge, S.D and great niece Madison Jo Hurm of Minnesota.
Dennis was preceded in death by his mother Sylvia Rumbolz.
