Dennis Lee Goracke 85, of Spearfish passed away peacefully at his home on April 14th.

He was born April 5th, 1940, to Louis and Esther Goracke in Freeborn County, MN.

He graduated in 1957 from Wells High School, Wells MN and enlisted in the US Army.

He married Karen Seward in 1959, in which five children were born. He spent many years in law enforcement in Minnesota and South Dakota. He retired from Pope and Talbot Sawmill in Spearfish.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and going to Deadwood. He was an accomplished accordion player who used to sing and play at dances. He and his wife Karen built many houses around Spearfish from the ground up and loved every minute of it. He loved his family and his country.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Karen, five children Dan (Chris), Kate, Terry, Tom, Kari (Gene) Griffin, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, brother and sister, daughter-in-law, and many friends.

Services will be held at 10:00AM Monday, April 21st at the United Methodist Church in Spearfish with a luncheon to follow.
