Delores "Dee" Irene (Lind) Wilson, 83 of Sundance, Wyoming died Friday, August 22, 2014 at the David M. Dorsett Heath Care Center in Spearfish, South Dakota.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Sundance United Methodist Church with Glen Wyatt officiating. Inurnment will take place at Black Hills National Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to benefit Multiple Sclerosis or a charity of your choice.
Dee was born June 4, 1931 to Henry and Catherine (Michel) Lind in Batesland, SD. In early 1937, her family moved to Bayard, Nebraska where she received her education, graduating from Bayard High School in 1950. She attended Chadron State College, receiving a teaching certificate, and began an elementary teaching career in Kimball, NE.
On November 21, 1953 she married Gilbert "Gib" Wilson who was serving in the United States Air Force. The couple lived in Las Vegas, Nevada for several months before her husband was deployed to Korea. She returned to Nebraska and continued her education at Chadron State and resumed teaching in Scottsbluff, NE. Upon her husband's return to the United States, they moved to George Air Force Base in Victorville, California, where she taught at the Air Force Base School. After her husband's honorable discharge from the Air Force, they returned to Chadron, where he continued his education. When her husband began his college teaching career, the couple lived in Laramie and Rock Springs, Wyoming; Coeur d' Alene and Moscow, Idaho. While in Idaho, Dee was a part-time student at the University of Idaho. The couple also lived in Pendleton, Oregon before returning to Wyoming. The couple made their home and raised their family in Riverton, Wyoming for the next 26 years, where Dee held various positions with Mountain Bell, later known as US West and now Century Link. Following retirement, Dee, with her husband, moved to a ranch near Sundance. Dee enjoyed collecting, sewing, quilting, crafts, and joining her husband hunting, fishing and traveling.
Dee was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church and Methodist Women, a member of Chapter H P.E.O., Republican Women, and Crook County Cattle Women.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Shirley Stockwell and younger brother, Bobby Lind.
Dee is survived by her husband Gilbert "Gib" Wilson of Sundance, WY, three daughters; Judy and husband Dan Neal of Casper, WY, Linda and husband Michael Fleming of Denver, CO and Shirley Ann of California. She is also survived by one brother, Jim Lind of Bayard, NE, an aunt, and numerous cousins.
