She graduated from McLaughlin High School in 1939. She and Dwaine "Bud" Chapel were married at Timber Lake in 1944. They owned and managed a ranch and farm operation North of Timber Lake until Bud's death in 1967. Delores married the love of her life, Raymond Olson, in 1969 at Timber Lake. They shared many years of working together at a wide range of things during which time they traveled to nearly every corner of the United States and to several points in Canada. In 1994 after retirement, Ray and Delores moved to Spearfish to enjoy the Black Hills. Delores cherished being with her grandchildren, was an avid reader, always found time to work word puzzles, enjoyed music, loved visiting with neighbors, and in the early years spent many hours cooking and sewing.
