Deloras was born September 12, 1922, to Arthur W. and Elvira O. (Hendrikson) Heinrich, at Ola, in Brule County, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Ola. She graduated from the eighth grade in the Keiner School near Ola. She attended Chamberlain High School, graduating in 1940. Deloras loved her church and family. She enjoyed volunteer work for the Lutheran church, gardening, letter writing, walking, reading, travel and enjoyed the Black Hills. In her later years, she was a Spearfish Passion Play volunteer. She thoroughly enjoyed a trip to the Hendrikson ancestral home in Norway. Visiting Hendrikson family reunions was a special joy for her.

Deloras is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Verna Bode and niece, Joyce Gaines. She is survived by her nephews, James Bode, Rosalia, KS and John D. Bode, Augusta, KS; nieces, Lana Murphy, Wichita, KS and Linda Knott, Marysville, KS; her great and great-great nieces and nephews and numerous beloved Hendrikson extended family members.
