David Joseph Tesch, 74 of Sturgis left to be with our Lord with his family and friends surrounding him, on December 29, 2018. He lost the battle of complications from Parkinson's. Another angel has joined the choir as our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother left this life. He will be sadly missed by the many lives he touched.

David Joseph Tesch was born on December 24, 1944 at St Joseph Hospital in Deadwood to Arnold and Gertrude (Bratt) Tesch. Number six of the seven children he was the only one born in a hospital. David attended school and graduated from Lead High School. He married the love of his life, Norma J Adkins on June 11, 1967. David worked for Homestake Mining Company for 40 years in several areas of the Metallurgical Department, spending most of his years in the refinery. He was placed on disability in 2001 after back surgery. He was also involved in the Lead Fire Department, holding the title of chief for 25 years, Lead Moose Lodge and on the church council at the Lead Bethel Lutheran Church.

Mourning his loss is his wife of 51 years, Norma of Sturgis; son, Michael of Sturgis; daughter, Shelly (Troy) Schlenker of Rapid City; grandchildren, Tanner and Tonia Schlenker of Rapid City; brothers, Arnold (Joanne) Tesch, Jr. of Yuma, AZ and Charles (Myrna) Tesch, Sr. of Pine Haven, WY, Bill Tesch; sister, Marlene (Bud) Westre of Rozet, WY and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leroy and Bob; nieces, Robin, Becky, Debbie Amy and Caitlain; and father and mother-in-law, Harold and Donna Adkins.

The family of David wants to express heartfelt thanks for all the care, understanding and love the CNAs, nurses, doctors and staff of the Belle Fourche Long Term Care center gave to David. They have touched our lived forever as David had touched theirs. Also, the support from Connie, Laurie, Susan and our children.

Memorial services will be at 11:30 AM on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Grace Lutheran Church in Sturgis. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in David's name.
