David Garrand O'Berg (Brother Dave), passed away at home in Whitewood, SD on November 29, 2024, at the age of 65. Born on February 17, 1959, in Oklahoma City, OK, David lived his life with a spirit all his own—independent, compassionate, and true to his values. He is survived by his cherished dog, TJ, and his three sisters: Vickie Couch (Michael), Marilyn Davidson (David), and Julie O'Berg and many nieces and nephews, both by blood and by choice.

David was preceded in death by his father, Fremont "Dusty" Carl O'Berg Jr., and his adored brother, Steven Carl O'Berg. His family, although heartbroken by his passing, takes comfort in the knowledge that David was a man who lived life always on his own terms.

A lifelong animal lover, David had a special bond with his dogs, who were his faithful companions throughout his life. He was also blessed with many dear friends, who admired his loyalty, salty humor, and an unwavering integrity all his own. David's presence was one that brought warmth and genuine connection to all who knew him. He was the first to help when anyone needed it.

David's unique spirit and his devotion to his family and friends will be remembered with great fondness. He lived simply but deeply, and his legacy will continue in the hearts of all who were fortunate to have known him.
