David Alan Carrico, 56, Lead, SD died Saturday, January 3, 2015 at his home.
David was born August 8, 1958 in Deadwood to Robert and Violet (Hofer) Carrico. He was the youngest of their five children. David was raised in the Lead area, graduating from Lead High School in 1976. He attended Creighton University graduating in 1980. While at Creighton he entered the ROTC program and entered the U.S. Army after graduation, receiving an honorable discharge in 1985. After returning home, he worked various jobs including working for the State of SD, accounting at Bennett County Hospital, Ross Perot, Bodega Bar and Café, Tin Lizzies, Mineral Palace and most recently at Deadwood Mountain Grand.
David is survived by his mother, Violet Carrico; brothers, Philip (Pam) Carrico and Bill (Linda) Carrico; sisters, Linda (Don) Zeller and Maria Mason. He was preceded in death by his father Robert.
Visitation for David will be from 5-7 pm at the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel in Lead on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. Funeral services will be at 10 am, Thursday, January 8, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Lead. Interment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care of the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel in Lead.
