David Barth came into this world on April 13, 1961, making his mark as one of the tiniest babies ever born in Jamestown, ND. He grew to be a guy with a heart so big you could wrap it around the world.
Sadly, David died suddenly at his home in Spearfish on October 15.
David grew up in Pierre, SD where he developed his great passion for hunting and fishing. He graduated from Riggs High in Pierre in 1979. From there his life's journey took him to Oklahoma. He settled in Spearfish in 1994. He was an accomplished carpenter, builder and welder. He loved spending time with his kids and friends, rock and roll music (three Led Zepplin concerts), and the Packers.
He is survived by the shining stars of his life, his three children, Josee (17), Ellee, (11) and Brodie (7). They were the light to his world and his proudest accomplishment. He is also survived by his mother, Patricia; three brothers and three sisters, Rory (Karn), Pamela, Toni (Greg), Kirk, (Jodi), Mark (Mary) and Mary Pat and his many nieces and nephews who laughed with him, and loved him dearly. He is preceded in death by his father, Big Al and his grandparents.
A family and friends gathering to celebrate David's life will be held at the Holiday Inn in Spearfish from 3 to 6 on Thursday, October 20. In lieu of flowers, it is asked that memorials be made for the education Josee, Ellee, and Brodie. They can be sent to 2309 South Carter Place, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, 57105.
Dave, thanks for the laughs and memories. A fitting tribute said in the last couple of days is he was one of the nicest, kindest, most genuine people to ever wear shoes. Thata buddy and say hi to Big Al and Vince Lombardi.
