Darrick Lee Schumacher passed away suddenly, on May 11, 2025, in Deadwood, SD, at the age of 46 years old. Darrick was born in Deadwood, SD to Donald and Lee Ann on January 31, 1979.

Darrick grew up in Lead, SD, where he attended school within the Lead-Deadwood School District.

During his early adulthood, Darrick worked as a cook, ski lift operator and worked in the local sawmill in Spearfish. Darrick had to stop working in his 30's due to muscular/neurological conditions, which made it difficult to stand and walk. Darrick eventually became clinically disabled and wheelchair bound far too young. Darrick did not let his disabilities stop him from enjoying his passions, which consisted of his kids, fishing and the MN Vikings.

Darrick had a son, Dylan Schumacher with Andrea Hansen in 2001.  He married Renee Klumb and they gave birth to their daughter Jazmin in 2010.

Darrick is survived by his children, Dylan Schumacher and Jazmin Schumacher; mother, Lee Ann Paananen; father, Donald (Dawn) Schumacher; brother, Dustin (Kristy) Schumacher; sister, Kaylena (Jackson) Bong; nieces and one nephew.

A Celebration of Life will be at the Christian Ministry Center in Lead at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 17th.
