Darleen P. Baird, 80, Spearfish, SD, died Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at home with family by her side.

Darleen Pernella Reimer was born January 20, 1939 in Bowman, ND to Benjamin and Bernice (Eien) Reimer. Darleen was raised on a farm outside of Scranton, ND. She attended and graduated from Scranton Public School in 1958. After graduation she married, Robert "Bob" F. Dacar. Darleen and Bob were blessed with five children, Curt, Carl, Lori, Linda and Zonda. Her second marriage was to Robert "Bob" Baird and three sons, Benjamin, Christian and Carlton blessed this marriage.

Darleen was a very ambitious, social and independent woman. She lived her life just as she wanted.

She adored the Black Hills of SD and moved her twin sons to Spearfish, SD from Dickinson, ND. They loved camping together and she spent her summers camping, as much as she could, with her family and friends.

She was a self-taught artist. She loved spending hours in her painting room perfecting her painting skills. Those countless hours of painting perfected her passion of this hobby to become an accomplice artist. She loved passing on her painting knowledge to her grandchildren.

Her greatest joy was her family. She was an excellence cook and loved to have her family surrounding her in her kitchen. Nothing made her happier than to prepare a BBQ'd steak and potato salad for her children and their families.

Darleen is survived by her sons, Curt (Judy) Dacar, Carl (Michelle) Dacar, Christian (Rachel) Baird and Carlton (Christine) Baird; daughters, Lori McCarty, Linda (Don) Paul, and Zonda Baird; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and sister, Avis (Jerry) Caron.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Bernice Reimer; brother, Duane and son, Benjamin. Darleen will be deeply missed by all.

A private family service will take place with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery in Spearfish.
