Danny J Craig, 69, of Spearfish, passed away August 6th, at his home following a long illness.

Danny was born May 28, 1950 in Sturgis, SD to Orin & Edythe (Cooper) Craig. He grew up around the Black Hills and attended schools in the area. He joined the US Army in 1968, and served 2 year, 2 months and 2 days in Vietnam. In 1971, shortly after his discharge from the military, he met and married the love of his life, Eileen Juso. They made their home in Lead, SD where they raised their daughters, Sheila & Denise. Danny & Eileen were married for 48 years.

Danny was well known for keeping his vehicles spotless and spending time with his best friend Curtis Mohr at Curt's Sinclair in Deadwood. He loved riding his Harley through the hills (most biker friends knew him as "Two Dogs"), visiting with friends and spending time with his family. He was a protector by nature and would do anything for those he loved.

Danny spent 30 years at Homestake Mining Company until they closed the doors. He then worked as a custodian for the Rapid City School District. He retired in 2014, when his health declined significantly.

He and Eileen moved to Spearfish in 2016 to be closer to their daughters.

Danny is survived by his wife Eileen; daughters, Sheila (Scott) Albright & Denise (Travis) Gienger, all of Spearfish; grandchildren, Daniel (Sydnee) Merrow, Colton (Amy) Juso, Garrett Merrow, Layni and Carson Gienger; great-grandchildren Dominick, Amelia, Gracelyn and Raedynn; brothers, Russell and Darrell Craig, and numerous other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Randy, and grandchildren, Lexi and Lizi.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish. Graveside Services with full military honors will be held at 1:30pm on Tuesday, August 13, 2019.
