Daniel G. Skroch passed away peacefully at home on May 27, 2026. His death was sudden and unexpected.
Daniel was a devoted sports fan whose favorite teams were the Buffalo Bills and the New York Yankees. He loved music and often listened to his favorite artists, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Buddy Guy.
Daniel was born in Devils Lake, ND. In 1964. He graduated from high school at U.S. Naval Station Guantanamo Bay.
Daniel began his career as a cook at the Enlisted Airmans Club at RAF Lakenheath England. Throughout his life, he traveled extensively with his family and enjoyed exploring the world.
He especially enjoyed dining out and collecting menus from restaurants in London, Paris, and Tokyo. Daniel also loved visiting museums and historic landmarks whenever he had the opportunity. Some of his favorite destinations included the British Museum in London, the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame Cathedral, and Moulin Rouge in Paris; and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial in Japan. He also enjoyed riding the Shinkansen, commonly known as the Bullet Train.
Daniel moved to Spearfish, where he worked as a cook at Millstone Family Restaurant for more than 30 years.
Daniel is survived by his father, Kenneth Skroch of Spearfish, SD. His brother, Gregory (Renee) Skroch of Spearfish; his aunts, Rita Pourier of Spearfish, Rosemarie (Ian) Snyder of Little Rock, AK. Bonnie Adkins of Deer Park, Wash. Niece, Lindsey (Pake), and great-niece, Wrenley, of Valentine, Neb. Nephews, Kiefer (Kara), along with great-niece Evelyn and great-nephew Weston, and Chase (Brandee), along with great-nephew Bentlee and great-niece LillyAna, all of Spearfish.
Daniel has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the care of Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapels and Isburg Crematory of Spearfish.
