Obituary

Constance, "Connie" (Goddard) Aulner, 83, of Spearfish,  SD, passed away in her home on Monday, January 27, 2025.

Connie was born on May 1, 1941, in Mitchell, SD, to George and Wyona Goddard. She grew up on her parent's farm in Fulton,  SD, with her siblings, JoAnn, Bud, Roger, and Sandy. Connie graduated from high school in 1959. She met Nick Aulner that same year, and they eventually married on June 5, 1960.

After marriage,  they moved to Ft. Sill, OK, Sioux Falls, SD, and then settled in Pierre, SD, where they built their first house and raised four children, Joni, Rhonda, Todd and Joel. They eventually moved to Ft. Pierre, SD, in 1973 and then to the Black Hills in 1981, where they built a house in Spearfish. They resided in that house for 40 years together until Nick passed away in 2021. Connie continued to live in her home until her death on January 27, 2025. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister JoAnn, and her beloved daughter Joni.

Aside from being a homemaker and mother, Connie worked at various jobs throughout her life. She was a telephone operator, a cook at Black Hills State College, she worked for Premier Bank, and she and Nick started their own cleaning and maintenance business.

Connie will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to bake, sew, and crochet, but most of all, she loved serving Jehovah.  She had a firm hope in God's promise of a resurrection and to live forever in paradise on earth.

"Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out... John 5:28, 29
